I love the fact that Duolingo normalizes queerness. It just seems, well, normal, when I do my Spanish lesson. Wish they pushed the issue in Russia, though. Great job as always, Gabrielle.
I've always loved that too! Their response in Russia is really disappointing, though I think even looking beyond the business implications it's complicated since I'm sure the only other option would have been to cease operations there, and people in Russia deserve free language education too. And, at the same time, every time a company gives in without question they validate those arguments and that does a lot of harm. It's all super complicated, but I still think the way they normalize queerness here is super valuable!
